The COVID-19 (current coronavirus) outbreak and by the Chinese government required shutdowns might have an impact on our supply of components. As the number of coronavirus cases continues to escalate within and outside of China, we want to be transparent on how this may have an effect on Scanreco’s delivery performance.
As per today, we have not experienced any slowdown in our production facilities. Our own local warehouses carry all parts and components needed for fulfilling orders and deliveries. Most of our external suppliers producing in China also have warehouses in Europe and are therefore able to upkeep a steady flow of components for our production.
Due to the unpredictable evolution of the COVID-19 outbreak, there may however be disruptions in supply chains that could affect us at a later stage. Scanreco, as well as our suppliers, work deliberately to avoid any disruptions and we follow the evolution of the outbreak closely.
Scanreco’s Sourcing department is in close contact with suppliers to regularly gain updated supply chain status information and information of any changes that may have potential impact to the delivery of components to us in the future. As of today, the main concern is due to Chinese forwarding and transportation companies being unable to resume normal operation within short and we prepare for alternative solutions in case needed.
