SISP™
SISP™ stands for Scanreco Integrated Safety Platform. It is a first of its kind modular safety solution, invented by Scanreco and approved by third-party in accordance with the IEC 61508 and ISO 13849-1 safety standards.
In short, dual micro processors in the transmitter, as well as in the receiver, work simultaneously at lightning’s speed to verify safe and correct functionality.
Imagine travelling in a world where safety was taken to an all-out extreme with four different screenings of your suitcase: You and your suitcase must pass two screenings before boarding the aircraft. Then, upon arrival, your suitcase must be checked twice before you could open it and use the content. We can probably all agree that this would be a nightmare for any traveler.
Although it would be a nightmare for travellers, it is the ideal dream scenario for a safety classified radio remote control system. SISPTM consists of four processors; two in the transmitter and two in the receiver. The processors are dedicated to keeping everything safe by checking that each transmitted data (here illustrated as a suitcase) package is correct.
Let’s pretend we go on a flight together. Envision what happens to your luggage after drop off at the check-in counter.
When you perform a command on your transmitter, for example by using a joystick, the signals to be sent by radio signals to the receiver (on the machine) are instantly encrypted.
Before the data created from the joystick movement is transferred to the transmitter radio module, it is checked and verified by two processors on the transmitter mainboard. The ”suitcase” is locked.

The processors work in parallel to check data simultaneously from all different aspects and angles. This makes it both faster and safer, and any minor unexpected deviation will make them immediately reject the data package (“suitcase”) before it gets airborne.
All data packages (“suitcases”) approved by the SISP™ module are then forwarded to the transmitter radio module and sent from the transmitter to the receiver without any delay that would cause sluggish machine movements.
Each minute, a staggering 1200 flights depart with safe and encrypted data.
That is 20 flights/second.
When arriving at the mainboard in the receiver, each data package (“suitcase”) is once again examined as thoroughly as on the transmitter side before being “unlocked” and forwarded to the machine. Any minor and unexpected deviations, e.g. radio interference, will make the SISP™ immediately reject the data package (“suitcase”). If no data packages (“suitcases”) were to arrive for 0,5 seconds, SISP™ instantly shuts down all safety classified outputs and the machine comes to a safe halt.
As Scanreco radio modules are transceivers (meaning 2-way communication), we also have a return flight from the receiver back to the transmitter. However, these packages are not safety classified and do not pass the SISP™ inspections. Data returned from the Receiver is just used to show information in the color display or light up LEDs, they never activate machine movements and do not need to be safety classified.
