Never-stop technology

Built and tested for unstoppable performance

At Scanreco, we believe machinery shouldn’t fail simply because conditions get rough. That’s why every receiver and transmitter we make is built around our Never-Stop Technology™—a design and testing philosophy that outlasts dust, moisture, vibration, and radio interference. Having sold over 700,000 units worldwide, most still running strong, our track record speaks for itself and is a testament of our durable and reliable products.

Never-Stop Technology™

Built for real-world challenges

Water, dust and dirt

From marine cranes to agricultural sprayers, our IP65 or IP67 enclosures and boards with conformal coating keep out water, salt, sand, and dirt. Downtime due to water ingress is more than frustrating—it’s expensive, which is why we’ve made sealing a top priority.

Extreme vibrations

Stone crushers, grinders, and conveyor systems vibrate aggressively, sometimes for hours on end. Our receivers withstand these forces thanks to electronic potting compound and shock-tested components—often outlasting the machines themselves.

Vulnerable access points

The molded seal protection minimizes common problems that arise from having several access points to the circuit board. Through elaborate design, we have minimized the use of open access points and the physical connections are thoroughly embedded to support our Never-Stop Technology™

Radio interference

Leveraging nearly 40 years of RF expertise, we are relentless in pushing the boundaries and always improving our radio technology. All our products use frequency-hopping spread spectrum and a Scanreco proprietary radio protocol, designed for coexistence in complex and noisy environments with many other wireless systems—keeping your signal strong and secure.

Electrical protection

Job sites are full of many things to worry about, your remote shouldn’t be one of them. That’s why our electronics are shielded against short circuits, transients, and electromagnetic noise. The receiver will temporarily go into hibernation in case of external machine faults. Once the cause of the fault has been rectified, the receiver will automatically restart itself in a failsafe mode.

High serviceability

We try to avoid all aspects of unplanned downtime, but if something unexpected happens, our products are designed to be easily replaced with minimum interruption. No need for complicated programming or reinstallation, replace the damaged part and you’re up and running. A built in error log and display will facilitate troubleshooting if needed. Smooth and easy.

In-house testing and field-tests for ultimate reliability

At Scanreco, we take testing extremely seriously, setting rigorous standards to ensure that every product we put on the market fully ready to face real-world challenges. Our comprehensive in-house lab is industry-leading, allowing us to evaluate radio performance and test with mechanical, chemical, electrical, climatic and electro magnetic loads—often pushing each component far beyond typical usage conditions. This methodical approach minimizes the risk of unexpected failures, so our products consistently pass third-party tests and certifications on the first try. Below are the key verification areas we scrutinize, all conducted under our roof by dedicated specialists.

Mechanical Tests

Strength under pressure

From shock simulations to extended vibration cycles, our mechanical tests replicate the punishing conditions our products face on machines on work sites, ensuring top-tier durability and reliability in line with IEC 60068 standards. We test random and sinus vibrations to mechanical shocks and high-altitude drops as well as a 0,5m drop test repeated 1,000 timesto ensure components remain functional even after repeated accidental falls. By confirming chosen materials and structural designs can withstand these stresses, we give OEMs absolute confidence in reliability—meaning fewer unplanned stops, easier maintenance, and less downtime on every job.

Chemical Tests

Enduring harsh conditions

In many industries, remote controls come into contact with oils, solvents, fuel, salt spray, and abrasive cleaning agents. Our chemical testing places components in controlled exposure chambers to verify seals, protective coatings, and plastics won’t degrade prematurely. We also evaluate how extended saltwater exposure affects the product’s integrity. By ensuring each component resists corrosion, chemical breakdown, and moisture intrusion, our remote controls keep operating smoothly no matter the application.

Climate tests

Resisting the elements

We conduct thorough durability evaluations to confirm that our products comply with environmental standards, such as EN60529 (ingress protection) and IEC60068 (temperature and climate verification). These tests replicate real-world conditions ranging from extreme cold to scorching heat, ensuring that Scanreco remotes continue operating year-round in any environment. By validating against temperature swings, humidity levels, and dust infiltration, we make sure your equipment stays reliable, no matter the weather.

Electric Tests

Stable and interference-resistant

Operators rely on safe and uninterrupted functionality, even where electrical noise or surges are present and when using the remote for long periods of time. Our extensive electric tests measure resilience to short circuits, power fluctuations, and electrical safety, helping us fine-tune circuit layouts for robust operation. For operators’ health and safety our tests show there is no negative effect from radiated frequency exposure. Limits for our products are typically stricter than common personal devices such as mobile phones.

Radio Tests

Ensuring industry-leading signal

A remote control is only as effective as its radio link. That’s why our in-house professor of radio technology refines each link architecture before it even enters our radio chambers. As radio performance is one of the key functions we test and validate, we measure frequency hopping, transmission power, and antenna performance to ensure signal clarity and range, even in radio-crowded sites. We also expose systems to potential interference from other devices, verifying our multi-band designs function reliably across diverse local and global frequencies. This ensures operators get quick, responsive control without unexpected signal drops, no matter the environment.

Field Tests

Proven in real-world conditions

Lab tests are crucial, but nothing replicates on-site realities like field trials. We team up with OEM partners to put prototypes through their paces in actual job settings—from dusty quarries to icy offshore rigs. Feedback from operators drives valuable refinements, ensuring our remote controls feel intuitive, durable, and supportive under authentic workload stresses. By the time we finalize designs, they’ve passed not just lab checks but actual usage scenarios—ensuring you get the reliability, and Never-Stop Technology Scanreco is known for.
