Construction sites, mines, forests, docks, busy highways, and many other work environments are often intense workplaces. Sometimes in rural areas and sometimes in dense urban settings. Add harsh weather, intense machine vibrations, dirt, liquids and occasional drops. Add 24/7, more or less, operations – because there are those too.
Clearly, it is vital that machine operators can rely on their equipment in extreme situations. Scanreco is committed to delivering radio remote control systems that work in all types of weather and work environments, and that don’t enforce an involuntary machine stand-still. We call it Never-Stop Technology and it is part our DNA since the start.
Björn Askestig, cofounder of Scanreco:
We have systems dating back to the 90’s that are still in use. One owner replaced their truck three times but kept the crane and remote control for their newer trucks.
Scanreco's remote control solutions undergo rigid testing before being released to the market, including water, dirt, drops, and radio interference.
Never-Stop Technology™:
- Ingress and water protection – Microparticles and water are devastating to electronics. Our circuit boards are covered with a conformal coating, and our transmitters and receivers meet a minimum IP65, but often IP67, rating.
- Electrical protection – Connections on Scanreco receivers are protected against short circuits and transients.
- Few access points – Through detailed design, we have minimized the use of open access points to sensitive components. Physical connections are carefully embedded and tested.
- Vibration resistant – Vibration from the machine itself can be problematic for the receiving unit, mounted on the machine. Scanreco equipment is carefully tested to handle extreme stresses like intense vibrations during long periods of time.
- Frequency hopping technology – Our proprietary radio technology ensures connectivity and continuous operation in high-noise environments where many different radio systems are running at the same time.
- High quality components – Joysticks, levers, buttons and other components have been carefully selected by Scanreco’s experts to ensure trouble-free operation for many years.
- Works without battery – If the battery discharges, you can connect our bellypack transmitters via cable to continue work for as long as you need or replace the battery with a charged one. In some transmitters we have included two battery compartments, when one battery has discharged, the transmitter starts using the other.
- Reduce downtime – No need for complicated programming or reinstallation if a part is damaged. Replace the part and you are up and running again. A built-in error log and display facilitates troubleshooting.
- Extreme temperatures – Bitter cold and extreme heat are a given in outdoor work. Our Swedish-tough design ensures uptime.
Never-Stop Technology involves everything we do
To us, reliability lies in everything from hardware design to radio signal, and in knowing that operations can continue regardless of a need for a battery change or to replace a switch. The serviceability of Scanreco systems is high, and the support is nearby within our global network of system integrators.
