Here they call him Marre, which is Swedish for Mariusz. Mariusz came from Poland to Sweden when he was 15 years old, and after studying Industrial Technique at the Royal Institution of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, he has alternated his working life between being a self-employed entrepreneur and an employee. Since 2016 he has been Production Manager at Scanreco’s facility in Stockholm.
“The challenge and strength at Scanreco is the in the diversity of its employee base. My job is to make sure we all share the same goal of making great products and innovative radio remote control solutions. Most people here are very, very ambitious. Since I arrived, I have worked hard on developing self-esteem and pride in our production processes. The big journey has been to take production from a garage mentality to an industrial flow.”
Mariusz is a low key, friendly guy who is easy to like, and his eyes have a certain smile. He worked as Acting Production Manager in his previous job, and he strongly believes in Scanreco’s goals and mission.
“Because it is a flat organization where your ideas are valued, the atmosphere is kind and open, the management is very caring for the employees.”
As the company is setting up a new facility in Poland, what is your advice to those seeking a management job there?
“In Poland you have to manage things the Polish way of course, but the thing that drives this company is quality before quantity. I would also say that motivation is key to good results and efficient production. We also know that Scandinavian companies that establish operations in Poland are attractive destinations for tech workers because they care and believe in their employees.”
Mariusz concludes the interview:
“This is a company with exciting hi-tech products, and we’re in a very strong growth cycle, which means we are on a fun and stimulating journey.”
